The Upper Hand Salon, owned by my dear friends Rachel Gower and Brian Williard, is the best in the city. Not only do Rachel and Brian run an amazing salon, they are committed to philanthrophy; they are my kind of people and the Upper Hand is my kind of salon.
I was a sportscaster in this great city during an exciting time in Houston sports history – the Astros Jeff Bagwell won the Rookie of the Year Award, Warren Moon was quarterbacking the Oilers and the Houston Rockets, led by former UH Cougars Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler, won two NBA Championships. I still follow all Houston sports teams but my heart is with my sons…Dylan, a midfielder for the Strake Jesuit lacrosse team and Luke, a forward for the Briarwood Mustangs basketball team.
The Houstonian is my second favorite place in Houston….funny that my favorite places are spaces where I go to exercise and find peace! My husband and I joined the club soon after moving to this great city and it’s my one, must-have luxury.
I love the work my company, Lisa Malosky Productions LLC, does with local nonprofits. We have the best clients and we take pride in helping them help others.
Memorial Park is my favorite place in all of Houston. I have been running there since I moved to Houston in 1991. Now, my two teenage boys join me – along with my husband and our labradoodle!
It’s a park like none other, located in the heart of the fourth-largest city in the country, an oasis.
LISA MALOSKY has been a trailblazer for more than two decades — the first female sports anchor at KPRC TV2 in Houston, the first female cohost of the original “American Gladiators” show and a member of the first, all female broadcast team for NBC ‘s coverage of the inaugural season of the WNBA. Since 2010, Lisa has been working almost exclusively with Don Friedell as CEO of Lisa Malosky Productions, creating videos for clients across the country. She also emcees dozens of events in Houston and beyond.
