Every year, a certain Texas luxury retailer puts out an “ultimate Christmas gift.” However, it would be hard to compete with what the Lone Star Flight Museum offers: flight experiences for aviation enthusiasts and thrill-seekers in historic World War II aircraft such as the B-25 and B-17 Flying Fortress. Prices vary based on aircraft and range from $250–$995.
Each flight experience lasts approximately 35–40 minutes, of which 20-–25 minutes are spent in the air, where passengers will enjoy the sights and sounds of American airpower and history.
Located at Ellington Airport, the Lone Star Flight Museum (LSFM) is a nonprofit aviation museum and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) learning center with a mission to preserve, educate and inspire. Led by CEO Lt. Gen. (ret.) Douglas H. Owens, LSFM’s new $38 million state-of-the-art facility opened September 16, 2017. In addition to the Texas Aviation Hall of Fame, the 130,000sf facility will house the Museum’s renowned flying collection of historic aircraft, a $1 million, high-tech Aviation Learning Center and dynamic hands-on exhibits.
Flight experiences can be purchased online at www.lonestarflight.org or 346.708.2517.
P.S. They also have Santa Claus on site every Saturday – ready to get your wish list. Check their website for details.
