EVENT: BLUE CURE NIGHT RUN & ZUMBA PARTY
WHERE: DOWNTOWN HOUSTON
In observance of September’s National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, hundreds gathered to shine a light on prostate cancer at the annual Blue Cure Night Run & Zumba Party in downtown Houston, and LOCAL Houston Magazine was part of the fun! For the third year, the Blue Cure Night Run took place in front of a blue illuminated City Hall at Sam Houston Park. KHOU’s Lily Jang served as emcee and former Houston Texans player and Blue Cure board member Chris Myers joined Lily for the countdown. Albina and Roger Rippy with YogaOne Houston led the pre-race yoga, and participants walked and ran the 5k course from Sam Houston Park down Allen Parkway in front of KHOU studios, and back to the park where a high-energy Zumba was kicked off and led by Rebeca Bangstein and friends. Lasers and lights lit up the park while participants also enjoyed fresh fruits and healthy plant-based treats and beverages presented by Whole Foods Market and MALK Organics, La Griglia, b pop!, Rhythm Superfoods, Drink Maple, KIND, Lovebean Fudge, Kickin’ Kombucha, Black Hole Cold Brew and Green Plate Foods.
