London Kaye is thrilled to announce an exclusive pop-up shop with J. Landa. Kaye, a Brooklyn-based yarn-bomber, artist and fashion designer, will bring a unique collection of bags to Houston on August 17 from 10am–6pm to the store at 2412 Rice Boulevard.
Yarn bombing, a form of street art, uses a simple crochet stitch and a bit of yarn to transform everyday environments into visual wonderlands. London Kaye sums up her art by saying, “My mes- sage is that joy, beauty and happiness can be found anywhere we’re willing to look.”

CUADRA STEPS INTO THE GALLERIA
For their third location in the United States (after Chicago and Las Vegas), Cuadra, the Leon, Mexico-based, handcrafted leather goods purveyor chose The Galleria. “It’s an international destination where people really like to shop,” says their rep, Francisco Padilla. Cuadra recently opened in Galleria VI – the space formerly occu- pied by Saks Fifth Avenue.
Cuadra offers boots, shoes, belts, bags, jackets and accessories for men and women in a variety of styles and skins, including exotics like crocodile, ostrich, elephant and lizard.

Houston Restaurant Weeks is the largest annual fundraiser for America‘s largest food bank. Participating restaurants make donations directly to the organization based upon how many brunches, lunches and dinners they sell during the event.
Established in 2003 by media personality Cleverley Stone, Houston Restaurant Weeks has raised, to date, more than $9.6 million to fight hunger in Houston, and has provided almost 29 million meals to neighbors in need through the Houston Food Bank.

FREE BACK-TO-SCHOOL VACCINATIONS AT CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF HOUSTON
Every Thursday (which is Free Family Night) in the month of August, the Children’s Museum of Houston will be offering free immunizations for children aged six weeks to 18 years of age. Administered by the Texas Children’s Mobile Clinic Program, vaccinations are available to the first 150 children who arrive each day.
To qualify, parents and guardians will need their child’s immunization records. There’s no need to pre-register.
