LOCAL Houston magazine is proud to be a sponsor of the Memorial Park Conservancy’s Annual Brunch Run, to be held on Saturday, April 1. The family-friendly, four-mile run/walk begins at 8am on East Memorial Loop, south of Arnot, and continues west on Memorial Drive through the park, with a beautiful finish in the Picnic Loop.
All proceeds benefit the Memorial Park Conservancy (MPC), a private, nonprofit organization created to restore, preserve and enhance Memorial Park for the enjoyment of all Houstonians, today and tomorrow. MPC’s vision is to implement the principles of world-class park management and stewardship in partnership with the Houston community.
Registration for adults is $35 and includes a great commemorative shirt and entry to the Post Race Party. And, as they say, it’s fun for the whole family: There’s also a Kid’s 1K that begins at 7:30am. The registration fee of $10 includes one kid entry and shirt, plus one adult entry to the Post Race Party – featuring food and beverage vendors and live music.
So, lace up your shoes, grab your friends and family, and come out to support Houston’s largest urban-center park. With 1,500 acres for jogging, biking, tennis, hiking, picnicking and golf, Memorial Park sees about four million Houstonians as visitors each year. With your participation, the MPC’s work can continue so that the park will remain a wonderful natural oasis right in the heart of Houston.
