EVENT: MAD HATTER’S BALL
WHERE: THE CORINTHIAN
The Children’s Museum of Houston’s “Mad Hatter’s Ball” raised $955,000 at The Corinthian. Event chairs Elva and Truett Akin and Monica and Greg Meeks played host to a whimsical evening benefiting the Museum’s educational and outreach programs. Underwriting was co-chaired by Caroline and John Harrell and Lyndsey and Bret Zorich. More than 500 guests walked through the looking glass and were hurled into a wonderland, enthralled by Rebekah Johnson’s (of Bergner & Johnson) vision of an outrageous “tea party” complete with floating playing cards, rampant vines and dazzling chandeliers. Guests rejoiced in the likes of Alice, the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts, while the tunes of Skyrocket sent everyone onto the chess-inspired dance floor.
