Here’s a good reason to get up early on Saturday: Los Tios is debuting its Tex-Mex Breakfast for the first time in the restaurant’s four-decade history. Get tot the Meyerland location at 4840 Beechnut starting at 8AM for your chance to receive a complimentary breakfast taco. Also, you’ll enjoy Mariachi and complimentary Modelo Micheladas from 10AM – noon. Finally, the restaurant is offering complimentary sopapillas with the purchase of any two breakfast entrees on Saturday and Sunday.
Owned by Gary Adair’s Adair Family Restaurants, Los Tios’s expansion into breakfast has been in the works since earlier this year when Adair Concepts’ Katie Adair Barnhart and Nick Adair took over day-to-day operations of all four Los Tios locations, and follows the well-received addition of new menu items like street tacos, healthy salads, and ceviche to the lunch and dinner service.
“Breakfast is always something I wanted to serve at Los Tios and I’m excited that we now have the creativity, operations, and clientele to make it happen,” says Gary Adair, owner, Adair Family Restaurants. Expect Tex-Mex favorites Huevos Rancheros, Migas and Chilaquiles, the latter cooked with your choice of red ranchero or green tomatillo sauce, along with more unique items like the El Taco Grande, an openfaced taco loaded with potato, egg, beans, cheese and beef fajitas. Other signatures dishes include the Desayuno Tex Mex, two classic cheese enchiladas topped with a fried egg, and Enchiladas Con Huevo, scrambled eggs wrapped in two flour tortillas, burrito style, topped with ranchero sauce, melted cheese and avocados. A variety of made-to-order breakfast tacos are wrapped in flour tortillas that are made from scratch on premises.
Fresh squeezed orange juice and aquas frescas, coffee by Houston roasting company RightSide Roasters, and classic morning cocktails from the bar – think Bloody Marys, Tequila Sunrise, Mimosa and Micheladas — add to the authentic Tex-Mex dining experience.
