September 13 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Diners Randomly Assigned Income Tier and Corresponding Meal to Raise Awareness of Hunger

WHAT: Houston Food Bank’s f.r.e.s.h. young professionals, in partnership with IKEA Houston, are presenting Hunger Dinner, an eye-opening event on the reality of hunger, on September 13. The event is also a fundraiser for Houston Food Bank, the nation’s largest Feeding American food bank, which serves 18 counties in Southeast Texas through a network of 600 hunger relief charities and partner distribution organizations, we are able to service 18 counties in the Southeast Texas area.

The dinner is intended to raise awareness of the issue of hunger, especially in Houston. Participants will draw a ticket that randomly assigns them to an income level. Attendees will receive a meal that represents their income tier. The event will be followed by a reception with dinner provided by IKEA.
