WHAT: “The Bar” Opening Party
WHERE: The Bar at The Houstonian
On September 15, Houston party-goers enjoyed fabulous food, wine and cocktails at the official opening of The Bar at The Houstonian, known as one of Houston’s most established and “who’s who in the city” bars. Over 200 anxious guests watched from the hotel lobby as staff unveiled the new arched doorway entrance with its patterned amber glass and sparkling brass accents. Guests were among the first to offer a toast to the renovated bar, to reserve private wine lockers and get a peek at the much-anticipated new restaurant TRIBUTE, which opens October 26. Tours of the TRIBUTE space included food stations with Executive Chef Neal Cox’s delicious fare including Wood Grilled Rib Eye with Old Fashioned Honey Yeast Rolls, chunky Crab au Gratin, Medina County Texas Parisa, Texas Wild Boar Empanadas and Pastry Chef Catherine Rodriguez’s decadent desserts. Wine enthusiasts enjoyed tours of TRIBUTE’s wine lockers and wine room with sommelier Vanessa Boyd, pouring her picks for the evening of Pol Roger Champagne, Pence Chardonnay, and Bergstrom “Houstonian Strong” Pinot Noir.
