I am a huge fan of Tata Harper Skincare. The line is 100% natural and nontoxic, and made in the USA. One of the media perks of my job is the Tata Harper facials I get to partake in when reps come into town to promote the brand at Neiman Marcus. Let me tell you a little bit about the brand first in case you aren’t a part of the cult following she’s amassed.
The Spa is offering a few treatments that feature entirely Tata Harper products. Tata Harper is originally from Baranquilla, Colombia, where she grew up very inspired by her grandmother. She shared the following with Town & Country: “Colombia is where my love of beauty came from.” In her hometown, Harper helped her grandmother host home spa parties on Saturdays. “I would prepare all the scrubs and this mask with vinegar and mayo for the hair,” she says. “Beauty was not a chore or a luxury but something you did to make yourself happy.” This premise of beauty being a source of joy is a reoccurring theme in Harper’s brand. I’ve interviewed her a few times for LOCAL as well as attended master classes with her for personal joy and can attest that the voice of her brand in its 100% natural mission is as pure as her desire to combine clean and pure with results, joy and ceremony.
When she couldn’t find products that were healthy and nontoxic, she set out to create them – and not without bumps in the road. Today she has the respect of the beauty industry and it is obvious that she can indeed make these so-called unicorn products; however, when she set out to, she was told she was crazy and that it was impossible. Many of the products’ ingredients are grown on her family’s farm in Vermont, batched there for utter freshness. Products have dates on them to show when they were batched, and because they are fresh, the sooner you start using them the more effective they are.
So, when Tata Harper Skincare launched at the Four Seasons Hotel Downtown, you can bet your bottom dollar I was there to experience it firsthand. This collaboration isn’t available at every Four Seasons, so take advantage of this local match made in heaven and indulge. Once you get past downtown traffic and noise and walk into the beautifully renovated Four Seasons, the journey begins. The entry to the spa is small in a cocoon sort of way, enveloping you into the space. From check-in you are led to the women’s locker area which is serene, white and beautiful. You change into a plush robe and are led into a waiting area. And then into your treatment room filled with Tata Harper magic. I did the Mask Treatment for glowing skin.
One of the things Tata loves is double masking, and many of her products are able to double up for maximum effect, although it’s not necessary. This treatment was a luxurious layering of products as well as a few that are only available in the spa. A raw honey mask was a first for me. While masks did their job, my esthetician took care of hands and feet, applying the line’s sublime body treatments while massaging. I walked out with an inner and physical glow.
There is also a Serenity Ritual: Polished Perfection for Supple Skin which includes a top to bottom buffing with the biodegradable Body Scrub to leave skin smooth, supple and perfectly polished followed by a peaceful soothing massage with the luxurious Body Oil for a complete sense of rejuvenation and well-being.
Take me back.
